Twenty-nine-year-old Danny Mendoza is a Miami-based Cuban-American storyteller. He has directed and produced feature films, transmedia series, and TV commercials throughout his ten-year career. As a writer, he has worked on documentaries (including the two listed below) and web series. He began production as director/producer of his first independent feature documentary, “Familiar Voices: A Reaction to the Crisis in Darfur” when he was a 19-year-old undergraduate student at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. He produced his first narrative feature, “Calloused Hands” in 2012. In 2014, he worked as the lead Producer on the narrative feature, “11:55”; the film stars Victor Almanzar, Shirley Rumierk, and Elizabeth Rodriguez and features David Zayas, Julia Stiles, and John Leguizamo.
