synopsis
In this revealing documentary, filmed in 12 countries and 9 languages, Indian filmmaker Parvez Sharma travels the many worlds of Islam, discovering the stories of its most unlikely storytellers: lesbian and gay Muslims. Sharma interviews a broad range of subjects, including a gay imam facing death threats from his own community, a group of Iranian refugees awaiting approval of political asylum in Canada and a lesbian couple committed to reconciling their faith with their sexuality.
