synopsis
When Joyce Chopra was eight months pregnant, a friend challenged her to make a film about juggling the conflicting demands of a baby, a husband and a career. Accepting the dare, she went on to produce a remarkably entertaining film and one of the first autobiographical documentaries ever made. Winning rave reviews, festival awards and an airing on PBS, the film is now in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art. JOYCE AT 34 has been preserved by the Reserve Film and Video Collection of The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, with funding from the National Film Preservation Foundation
