synopsis
A comedic and thought-provoking short on whether Pluto is a planet or not, and how the human race defines the world around them.
"Mark Rosenberg and I commissioned some short films to be made from NASA footage, including one film about each planet. We instantly thought of Travis Wilkerson for Pluto, the solar system’s most controversial planetary body. His intense and minimal style in his films often covering wars and unjust systems fit the charged atmosphere of Pluto perfectly. We can barely even see the planet and we’ve attacked its character so much. Wilkerson it took the controversy much further than we could have expected. Intentional humor ripples under the surface, but these are important questions about all the land we stand on, and the declarations the human race makes." – Mike Plante, Sundance Short Film Programmer
