synopsis
The story of a young American concert pianist in the Dimitri Mitropoulos International Piano Competition.
"Susan is a 19-year-old piano virtuoso, preparing to compete in a prestigious international competition. Her preening mother micromanages every aspect of Susan’s life, including inviting herself along to a romantic dinner with Susan’s new beau. Filmmakers Hope Ryden and D.A. Pennebaker use the small details of life to create an intimacy with and fondness for the steely Susan. After watching this film, Jane Fonda agreed to let Ryden and Pennebaker film her preparations for a starring role on Broadway, which became the film JANE. - Jill Drew, daughter-in-law of Robert Drew and General Manager of Drew Associates"
