Bennett Miller
Born and raised in New York, Bennett Miller studied film as an undergraduate at NYU, but dropped out in 1990. He says he was a "bad student" who "just never liked school." Miller had first met Timothy "Speed" Levitch, the subject of his documentary THE CRUISE, when they were teenagers. Speed became a flamboyant tour guide for Manhattan's Gray Line double-decker buses. THE CRUISE won the Audience Award and the Special Jury Award at the Newport Film Festival, as well as two awards at the Berlin Film Festival. Bennett's next film CAPOTE was nominated for 4 Oscars including Best Picture, and won Phillip Seymour Hoffman an Oscar for Best Actor. His film MONEYBALL, starring Brad Pitt and Jonah Hill, was nominated for 6 Oscars, including Best Picture. His newest film FOXCATCHER comes to theaters Fall 2014.
